It's actually the Bank of Rice for ALL fund; ALL being Animal Lovers' League, of course. It's an auction thread set up on a pet forum to help raise funds for ALL. Basically, members of the forum contribute new or used items and other members who want them bid for these items. All contributions made are put into a fund used to buy rice for the animals at ALL.
This method of fund raising has proven highly successful and the wards of ALL have, as of now, been guaranteed a full stomach up till middle of next year. Isn't that wonderful?
It's a great way for members to get rid of useable "junk" or white elephants and for other members to buy stuff at unbelievable prices while doing their bit for charity. Some items currently up for auction now are : a 27" white teddy, a collector's item LOTR One Ring, doggy clothes, books, comics, a Pink Panther umbrella, Hello Kitty collector's hamper, bath gel, pet shampoo etc etc... the variety is huge!
