I haven't been working much on Beads of Love lately but give me a shout if you need funds and I will squeeze out the time and ideas for new items.

Rosaries for the kiddies

In case you're wondering if I've got my glasses yet, yes, I have. And it only cost me 80 bucks :-P

I haven't had much time to craft jewellery lately. The past 3 weeks, I've been busy making rosaries for 136 9-year olds receiving their First Eucharist this Sunday at St Anne's Church. The rosary is part of a gift package to celebrate their receiving this significant milestone in their Sacramental life.

We got the parents together to string the beads and it was fun and a great opportunity for fellowship and bonding within our catechetical community. The parents loved doing it and better still, said they would make sure their children use this rosary to pray as they had painstakingly strung the rosary themselves one bead at a time :-D

Here's what each child will be given - a card, a pewter bookmark and a handmade rosary of opal acrylic beads for the Hail Marys and floral wooden beads for the Paters, blue for boys and pink for girls, naturally ;-)
